Jocelyn Moye – I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania. Bringing order out of chaos and helping clients move forward on their journey is what I value most about my work. I encourage clients to explore without judgement and at their own pace. I am knowledgeable and trained in experiential interventions and body-focused techniques for emotional awareness and relaxation. My background in teaching, the arts, and holistic lifestyle education inform my integrative approach to therapy.
Clients are assessed to determine which approach(es) will be a good fit – EMDR, Play Therapy, Inner Child/Parts Work, Somatic Therapy and Sensorimotor interventions. Most clients resonate and make progress with a blend of these modalities.

EMDR: When someone experiences trauma, the brain copes in the moment in ways that can cause lasting negative effects. The aftermath of trauma (anxiety, depression, nightmares, triggers, etc) come from the brain’s inability to fully integrate the traumatic experience. EMDR assists the brain in the process integrating information so that distressing symptoms can be reduced. The process includes dismantling beliefs about the trauma that are not true and strengthening the client’s ability to recognize truth and develop resilience. Relaxation exercises tailored to the client reduce distress, increase confidence, and promote a state of calm. This process can reduce the intensity of trauma symptoms or eliminate them, allowing the client to live with less distress.
Somatic and Sensorimotor interventions follow how trauma is stored in the body (sensations, movements, feelings, emotions) to identify ways to release the lasting effects of harmful experiences and find pathways to healing.
Parts Work and Inner Child-focused interventions allow us to become the nurturer we needed, to use visualization and interact with younger parts of us that were harmed initially. The client and therapist work together to provide what was not provided and meet unmet needs.
